The long wait is over, because the iPhone 3G is now available in the Philippines, via Globe Telecoms.
To summarize everything that was there, the Plans are divided into three: iPhone Plans, Prepaid and Gflex and Gplan.
In iPhone plans, they have:
1599/month for Php 15,100 (8GB) and Php 20,600 (16GB)
2199/mo for Php 12,600 and Php 18,100
3299/mo for Php 10,100 and Php 15,500
3999/mo for Php 2,500 and Php 8,000
4999/mo for FREE and Php 2,900
In Prepaid Kit, they have:
8GB - Php 37,599.00
16GB - Php 43, 799.oo
These are a bit expensive compare to $199 & $299 plan with AT&T of Apple in US. Steve, can you look at these figures? Hehe.
For other plans, look at the bottom of this article to direct you to the Globe iPhone's Official Website.
The amounts are in Philippine peso and the plans are locked-up in two years (so all of you who wanted to open line, will wait for two years) I don't know if the Prepaid plans are inclusive of the locked-up. If not, then there's no problem with unlocking it. And mind you, the Apple still have the control with the iPhone (I don't know if it applies in the Philippines). Steve job reveals that they have the right to stop someone's phone functioning if they did something bad with it (like installing malicious apps in it). So, beware of that, it's called Kill Switch. Apple remotely disables applications that are harmful to the phone, hey, is that you Big Brother, looking at us.
