August 8, 2008 Olympics, Flickr 888, and more

This is one of the most significant event of the year, because 8 would be around and creating news worldwide.


On August 8 at exactly 8:08 pm (in China), the Olympics 2008 will start. Happening every after four years, Olympics is the epitome of sports competition around the world. Another event, for flickrs like me, is the uploading of all captured moments or anything that will happen on the said date. The group Flickr 888, launched just before the much awaited date, has garnered thousands of patronage who wanted to share their moments. This is the second time the Flickr had launched 24-hour special event since last year, May 5, the 24 hours of flickr. Like New Year's Eve, everyone is excited for this event, preparing their cameras, journals, and anything that would keep '8' alive after the dawn of that very small minute.
